Studded tires

I have a set of self studded Dillinger 5s 26”. I would guess less than 100 miles total on these. The front is full studded and the rear is half studded. What is the going rate for a set of used tires?

That depends. Are they tubeless-ready or the older tubed bead ones?

I helped a buddy find some a few weeks ago and the best deal we found for the 120 tpi, tubeless ready. Aluminum/carbide studded version was $180 per tire shipping included.

But Dillinger 5s look like they’re pretty much sold out online right now so someone might be willing to pay a premium for used ones.

I first though you were talking about self studding tires.
This method is really cheap, just a small box of sheet metal screws.
Sheet metal screw studs yeilds better tracion on ice that any manufactured studded tire,
However the big drawback is a lot of added weight from both the screws and the tube liner.
The other caution is the screws are very sharp and will cut you, even after years of use.
They are so sharp, the sheet metal screw studs will scratch and mark a cement drive.

You buyer can judge

$360 for 2 tires or $15/100 screws , labor ( about 3 hours) and extra weight - use an old tube as a liner.

Offer the 2 tires up for $100 , you might get lucky!
