yes,

that creek is Norton Creek...

the straightest creek I have ever seen... I assume it must have been dredged at one time.

Do you guys ever ride the boy scout bridge?
I'm afraid to go thru there in any time but the middle of winter when I know its frozen... it so wet and soupy

Only Proud Lake could have a dead deer blocking the trail.... That's another reason to love it...

The deer wasn't that much of an object as you could easily bunny hop over it....... never thought I would do that.......

I've put most of the Loops and shortcuts in proud lake up on Google Map Maker now... If any of you guys using Google mapmaker you can approve my edits and hopefull soon we will see the loops on google maps ( much of loop 4 should be showing already - see link below for loop 4 )https://www.google.com/maps/@42.5637727,-83.58338,2261m/data=!3m1!1e3
Once approved loops 1 - 3 and many of the shortcuts should also be showing too.

This will hopefully allow someone to pull out their smartphone on the trail and see their exact location on the map and see the trail at the same time.

If your not familiar, google allows you and me to make changes to the maps we see when your are looking at maps.google.com
you can add trails and roads and etc.
check it out at the following link.

The south section of loop 4, notoriously slow to dry, is ridable and nearly bone-dry. Last night's ride featured a near-collision with a wild turkey on the loop 2 bypass - scared the crap out of me....also cleared ALL climbs on L3 for the first time riding out there for more than a decade, fun stuff!!
See you on the trail

Proud Lake loop 4 has one bad spot north of Child's Lake Road. Had to walk. Other than that it is OK, but needs riders. I think I was the only bike track I saw on loop 4, and not much on loop 2 either. Can't report on loops 3 or 1.

Thanks Hermannator!
This isn't my first time camping there so I am familiar with the routes.
Just the first time we will be camping there in the spring so I wasn't sure how soon
people were usually able to get out on the trails.
I am usually on Lot 95 in the Puma Trailer burgundy Chevy if you are cruising through for a ride.
Thanks again!!!

Looks like this thread is missing posts for March 2016 to present....I've noticed the same issue elsewhere on this forum
Anyway ..tree is still down on the L2/L3 shortcut...on the 3 side of the RR tracks...about 40ft from the RR tracks
See you on the trail

Rode loops 1 and 4 on Saturday 1/28. Loop 1 was in good shape, although the powerline section definitely had frozen hoof prints due to horse traffic. Loop 4 west of Childs Lake Rd was particularly awful with frozen hoof prints everywhere - it was NOT FUN at all, recommend avoiding this. The section of Loop 4 from Childs Lake Rd returning to the RR tracks was fine.

I did not ride Loops 2 and 3, but I heard that they were in good shape overall.

I rode Wednesday 5/17 - the trail conditions right now are as good as I have ever seen them. The trail is firm and dry, and the mudholes have dried up. Get out there before the vegetation takes over.

I tried riding Proud Lake on 5/29 in the afternoon - the hero dirt of a week ago is gone. With the recent rain, there are a lot of wet and/or sloppy areas....hopefully they will dry out soon. There has also been a lot of horse traffic recently which also churned up many of the dry areas.
