"In 2012 a separate equestrian trail system was developed. The Blue Loop is open to all users. The Red Loop and Green Loop are now biking and hiking only. Unfortunately, the Yellow Loop has been eliminated as the current DNR policy is to have equal trail mileage for equestrians and mountain biking"

This is taken from the SWMMBA website. Unless something has changed, might not want to advertise the yellow as being fair game. I was there in June and the Yellow was marked no bikes.

I ride there constantly, and am in touch with the DNR and on a race team there, and the Mayor of Battle Creek. The yellow trail is open for mountain biking.

So does this mean that the Yellow section (it was at one point removed for a number of years right?!) and the "freeway" section is back open to bikes?? I went to college at Western and used to ride there all 3+ times a week, afterwards there was a division with the the trails of red and green and blue only being open to bikes with yellow going to the horse crowd. I have ridden there maybe 2 years ago but stayed only on the green and red. I just remember a certain section that ended up being on the yellow trail being called the freeway with a fast decent and 3 drops in a row which was an absolutely blast and want to ride that again!

The Yellow trail as shown on this map is open to Mountain Bikers. We (SWMMBA) are in the process of updating the trail info and descriptions on our site, we apologize for the confusion.

The Red and Green trails at Fort Custer will be closed tomorrow (September 30th) until 2pm for the XTERRA. Blue will be totally open, as well as the portions of Yellow that aren't shared with Green or Red. Please let your riding friends know. Thanks!

The rain was kind to the fort. Firm, fast and clear on green and red, one medium bunny hoppable tree down halfway through red. If you have not ridden it in reverse yet, get out there!

Rode there a few days ago. One large tree down on red. Didn't ride green.

Rode red again. Trails were pretty damp yesterday.

Big tree down on red. Head level. 1/3 mile before the 14 Trail marker going CCW. Right before the three log piles. Will require a chainsaw.

What are the conditions for the weekend? Is this trail ridable, is there ice, studs needed, fatty, skinny, can anyone update please?
Hope is not a good strategy.
