reroute boy scout bridge

Postby Chef Dave » November 29th, 2004, 9:52 am

The reroute of the boyscout bridge is complete and we fixed the area where the trails come together. The trail has not been marked yet but I think everyone will find this reroute safer and yet more fun. Hodaddy let me know what you think! Thanks to the 11 hard working trail builders that came out and to the Rangers for their help. 8)

Props to the trail crew! The reroutes are great. Rock gardens, drop-offs, and log crossings, oh my! Get out and ride it before it closes for the winter. Nice job, Dave, Mike & all!

Thanks Eric...You can thank Carlos too. He was the driving force on some of the "features"....Making us all tired and moving rocks out of the way.

I'm going out there Sunday to Sherp around the trail...anyone interested I'll be there around 3:30 - 3:45 pm

I'll try, Mike, but that work thing may get in the way...Beck road parking?

The new section should be avoided until the trail can dry out. I rode it this morning and the ruts were frozen, but on the second lap they softened up and got messy.

I agree with phresh. The new stuff is fun but it will be a heck of a mudpit for a while. Avoid the new stuff until someone posts that it's rideable.

Phresh, did I see you out there?

One last thing:
Great job on the trail additions, guys. It's really something!

We had a great night ride last night (12/15) 25 riders checked out the reroute and had fun. The trail is closed :( until 4/16/05 see you in the spring. Our work day will be 4/9/05 we have two more reroutes to eliminate the remaining 2 bridges per approval. :)

Reroute

Postby Chef Dave » March 2nd, 2005, 8:16 am

Hello
Park Manager Sandra Osburn and Ranger Frank walked the trail with Mike Flack and myself on February 24th. Sandra okayed the removal of the two remaining bridges and the reroute of the switchback that is after the 3 mile marker. It was great to have Sandra on the trail with us to see some of the problems. I look forward to another good year at Maybury. Our Trailday is April 17, a Sunday this year. We will be advertising the Maybury trailday at REI and hope to get some help from them. 8)
