Dave and I were there again this morning doing some prep work and checking the proposed trail now that we can see the ground (in most spots) again and we can see where the drainage is happening. We have the cooridor trimmed and when the ground thaws we could use some help with more prep work...all in all this section shouldn't take too much work.

Upcoming trailday is 4/17/05...and we will need all the helpers we can get.

Thanks
Mike

I am not a member of MMBA but I would be willing to help out on 4/17 as I have been riding at Maybury since 2003 and love that track.

I have a few questions:
What parking lot? What time? What should I bring? How long will we be at it?

Hello and we welcome you to come out both Friday for the ride and Sunday for the trailday. Sunday we will meet at the Beck road parking lot because it's close to the work area at 9am

Dudes, you are going to ride the trail at night (on 4/15)? That sounds fun but dangerous! What kind of lights do you use? Do you just duct tape a MagLight to your front fork?

Trail Day Details:
April 17th, 2005
9:00 am Start time
Meet in the Beck Road Parking lot (where the horse stables are)
Please bring gloves, rakes, loppers, shovels, wheel barrels, and a good attitude

Don't forget to bring your strong friends too        :D :D

I'll be bringing the Smilies   :?:  :x :P  8) :? :D :) :o

In all seriousness, the workdays are fun and a great way to meet other local riders and groups. As the posters says there is nothing quite like riding a trail...you helped build.

Thanks, hope to see you out there..

As for lights most people have riding lights for the dark months (i.e fall - spring) when the day light is limited. Night riding is a blast and worht the investment in a nice light. They start around $100 and fo up to as much as $500.

Although the sign at Maybury says the trail is closed until April 15, the barricade at the trail head is gone. It's time to ride.

Thanks Hockeydaddy, the snow fence is down because I called Roger ahead time so that the group ride wouldn't have to take it down or ride over it.
