Rode East Loop today Monday the 11th before noon. First, there is a double tree obstruction at about 4.8 miles just before a hill requiring dismount and maybe a walk up the hill since you start from a dead stop. Should be easy to clear with the right tools.

Most of East Loop seemed like really good condition at first but discovered at speed that the moisture made the trail a bit slick, especially in the leafy spots. Had multiple slide outs and slips. Left some skin on some trailside trees. Learned that one had to slow down a bit, especially in the turns. Meadows had some wet areas but much improved by the new rock bridge/bolstered section. Props to the engineers.

Then Orchard was quite wet, almost too wet to be fun. Some puddles and mud.

Most of East will be ideal after a day or two of drying out. Orchard Loop might need three or four days.

Rode the west and east loops on Saturday morning. Other than being very dry, the trails were in great shape. Kudos to the trail coordinator and maintenance team for keeping the trails well maintained & trimmed!

I wish it was a touch taller and a touch longer so you could rally it like a true wall ride. Otherwise, i agree, it's very nice.

Yeah ... the 2nd time over it I wished for more length on the berm. But the old bridge was on its last legs, so anything is better than the old bridge falling apart.

Rode the first 7 of East for the first time since early 2016 ... it seems to have more flow than I remember. Is that a figment of my imagination?

No it is not. I cannot recall when it happened, but there were some tweaks to the trail a few years ago by a rogue person wanting to get better flow in places....some of the tweaks remained, which made the trail a bit faster/flowier.

Other than that, it is just maintained much better, allowing better visibility (and perhaps wider lines in places). There has also been improvement to the trail at the end of Orchards just before the trail joins back up with the Orchards bypass....

It's still the trail that you know and love, just better!

Someone posted in a FB thread about this that they're waiting on a part to fix it.

I may have dropped my iPhone in the parking lot at Holdridge tonight. I left the trail about 6:00. The west 3 trails and the north trail were all in good shape.
