Good question. And nice meeting you too! Welcome! I'll leave the answer to someone more in the know about that sort of thing.

This would be huge for us in a2, we can log all the volunteer hours with the city, counts for ~$22/hr in terms of donated labor... not to mention good pr, and best of all.. ACCESS TO PROMOTIVE.COM!!!!

If we could get a good turnout for the expo from our Chapter, then I am sure we (State level Board/Expo planning folks) could and would offer up a room and time for another training session during the expo. I know we did it last year, and there were about 25 or so people who participated and went through the initial training session with the Powerpoint and on course simulation of an accident.

This aspect of Mt Biking and trail advocacy is very very beneficial to us in all sorts of ways. Again, let me know whatever folks intentions are, and I can begin to put this together and make it happen. A session here in A2 for us? Or wait until the end of Jan and have the session in Lansing with everyone else?

You're welcome! I actually broke one of the pieces of wood while I was anchoring it last night, so I'm running out there to replace that piece tomorrow. I was somewhat amused - I had 8 riders go by, all of different levels, all very excited that the board won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Edit: piece replaced.

That was me! Where were you? I didn't see anyone else riding the trail.

Ha ha ha. Awesome. I was on M-14 driving home and spotted you. One of the few times I've ever caught someone on the trail while I was on the highway.

Good eyesight, sir!

I rode the local AA loop Monday night.. It was super nice. The trails are pressed, the trails are fairly wide, and super fun! The underpass is super super crazy slippery (had to stay slow and upright on the bike - don't try to walk it!). Black Pond woods was good, Leslie was good (up to Leslie park where there was no trail at all and difficult to get to the asphalt walkway - I just turned around). Barton nature area was awesome, all parts of it. Kuebler Langford was good to moderate with some drifts and boot holes pocketed here and there.

Well, the trails were in great shape last night. Only a giant mud puddle in Barton, a tree down in Sunset (I cleared a good chunk of the smaller branches), and that leaner in Kuebler.

Had a nice ride on the Local Loop yesterday. Trees are blocking the paths at:

- Cedar Bend, a large tree, just above the elbow on the wide path.
- The railroad path between Olson Park and Traver Creek, also a large tree, closer to the Traver Creek trailhead. Also a lot of wet areas.
- Sunset Park, just a tree top. Could probably be cut with a handsaw.

Things are still damp out there, but ridable. As always, please avoid mud...

Thanks for all these updates!

It's still wet and muddy out there, I would wait another day or two before riding.

Trees at Barton are now cleared. I thought about taking the leaners out but it is a tangled mess. I was afraid I'd make things worse. If they come down they'll be light and easy to move.

Bcar wrote:PLEASE stop removing rocks and roots on the trail! I doubt it is anyone here, but if so, stop immediately. And if you see anyone removing rocks or roots from the trail please tell them to stop! And if they don?t, call the Ann Arbor NAP. Removing these trail features is NOT approved!

Trail was ok last night, a few greasy spots. Cleared a few downed trees.

I noticed that in K/L the other day, thought it was a bit strange.
