The White Pine Trail is in great shape from Grand Rapids to Russell Street. The paved section is debris free and the siding is cleared. I've ridden this a number of times this summer. North of Russell the trail turns to dirt and is sandy in places. Stick to the mountain bike in this section. We could use some rain and things should be better once the leaves start falling.

I switched over to the Macatawa Trail this weekend for a change of pace and rode from Marne to Muskegon and back. Everything is good except there are quite a few sections of the trail where you've got to dodge horse *beep*. It's especially bad a mile or two west of Ravenna.

The Musketawa Trail is in pretty good shape that runs from Muskegon to Marne. It does have some small sink holes caused buy chipmunks digging under the asphalt and some areas where tree roots are buckling the asphalt.

White pine paving

Postby John_H » September 21st, 2007, 5:48 am

Just this week the new additional paving of the white pine trail is done all the way up to Sand Lake. The paving used to end just north of Rockford.
