Please use caution tomorrow 8/19 starting @ 9:00am in CRPT. We’re going to be tweaking the new banked bridge and trail between the old DPW and Beresford Ct.

I rode the trail for the first time in about 2 years--- WOW
The new bridges are grate. For the fist ride I took them slow - did not velodrome them - next time!
For a trail that is under water a lot of the year, the trail bed shows very little break down - more roots
It is to bad there is not another 5 or 10 miles of it.
Thanks to all who did the work.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the trail. Don't know where you could put 5-10 miles,
but it would be nice. Phil is the new CRPT bridge designer.

Trail was surprisingly in very good shape especially after all the rain that we have gotten. One tree down closest to the power lines entrance right after the skinnies may need a chainsaw.

Is this tree near the figure 8 skinnies or the original single skinny? I will try to get out there sometime tomorrow to clear it.

The tree was removed along with that section of trail was completely trimmed back on Saturday. We also trimmed back the over grown crane to bridge section.

Water runner over trail, wooden bridge N of Jaycee. Jaycee to Farmstead (F1) was good. Only a little greasy by the log pile. The crane section (F2-D1) very wet, deep standing water, only passable balancing on nearby logs. Switchbacks (16)to DPW was good, standing water at rock garden. Water running over 2 track from DPW to "Eagles Pass". "Eagles Pass" to skills area was good, but trail was not passable beyond that. I was unable to make it to the trailhead/ ITC corridor. Multiple trees and standing water blocking trails.

The Clinton River is fairly high right now. Not surprising that a trail built in floodplain is wet: https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrogr ... gage=mclm4

Agreed. Not Surprised. I was out there last night (4-22), just relaying what I saw. Kudos to those that built the wooden features. Looks like a lot of effort went in to making the trail more interesting and passable.

Thanks for the report. We will get out there when it dries out enough to remove all down trees and assess the areas of concern for future trail days. As always there's the people who will ride that trail and cause more damage because either they are not educated on the effects of what they are doing or they just don't care. We've had a good couple years with the trail being drier than usual. Hopefully this year will be another one.

First time out here this year, it's drying out, it's rideable i guess, no surprise, there's tons of ruts and a lot of trail widening from the mud riders, going from Ed Ct. there's
a small tree down past the dirt rollers & decking, another one blocking the 2 track
going towards Petros Ct , and one more over the fence behind the maintenance bldg
and onto the s.t.,the parallel 2 track is rutted but rideable.
