Anyone know if the trail will be okay for fatbikes tomorrow?

Should be. It was reportedly great today.

(I strongly suggest following the SE Michigan Trail Conditions Facebook group; it gets a lot more traffic than this forum.)

Nice and firm today. Could get up some reasonable speed. Did not do much of the non groomed trail but apart from drag strip (which has NO traffic), it looked very rideable.

Real nice out there today. A bit of a singletrack rut was forming around Noon in a few places.
I was trying to widen the track wherever possible...(That lead to a few "pucker" moments)

Definitely worth getting out there if you can brave the cold. I tried to 'work' on the rut as well.ImageImageImage

Running race at RB today and tomorrow. From the written description and the pink ribbons on the singletrack Saturday, I'd assume the trails are toast now or will be soon.

Interesting. I wonder if they'd even have a running a race on the trails if not for the bike/grooming activity to make them more passable.

Don't know about RB but we used to have winter running races at LOHS before the bike races. Sometimes the runners helped pack the snow down for the bikes. But that was before fat bikes.

Multi-purpose trails on public land.
Just because we were asked to build a singletrack trail system, doesn't mean MTB'ers can dictate who can use the trails. Runners far outnumber bikers.
All that being said, I'm bummed because I was looking forward to an enjoyable ride there tomorrow AM.

Please post up if you get out there today.

Thanks.

Pete, runners did tear it up but also made it wider. A little rough but still a good ride and in some places, preferable to the the 4” groove on the remainder

I did some laps in the cold today, on my first visit to River Bends. The trail had a nice groove worn in and was super grippy, a really fun, fast ride on the fat bike.

Very rideable today, there was one fat tire track & my plan was to widen the riding surface but 40 days off with an injury took it's toll on my fitness so i followed those tracks but i did manage to fix up that Blue section next to the pvmt where it gets plowed over by first walking the bike (with feet off the trail ) then riding it back & forth about 20 times to pack it;hope that helps; tired but i made it back down the pvmt to the big parking lot in Utica! LOL.
