Yeah I saw there was a proposal to demo the power building for $200k and they have about 20 buildings and I'm guessing the bigger ones will cost a whole lot more...

The crew is looking to schedule our first trail day, to bust in the new mountain bike trail in a few weeks - we're looking tenatively at the weekend of November 2-3. We're busy laying out the basic trail right now, so the trail crew can come in bust in the new trail with minimal guidance. We're anticipating a couple miles of trail, and will likely have a select few chainsaw'ers, power tool weed whippers, sapling pullers, raker's, trimmers, etc. - plenty for everyone. Of course we'll have food and hopefully some brew on hand for those who are of age. So if you've been following this saga since 2013, and wish to join in for the first volley, keep your eyes peeled for our trail-day announcement, for kick-off time, where to park, etc.....

I'm not worried - we've got power tools, and that's a great force multiplier. And besides, it's the Iceman - not too many people who do that race, do traildays .

As someone who lives near by I'm curious how the trail building went? Is there an estimate on when the trail might open? Looking forward to riding it this season!

The trail building is ongoing still, but progressing. There are some tasks that need to be completed that require a small group to accomplish, so that will not happen until it is safe to do so. While the trail is mostly ride-able now, it needs some bridges and route adjustments to make it enjoyable. The trail head needs work and the trail needs marking.

With that being said, the Township had initially planned to have an opening event before Memorial Day, but I am sure that is delayed. I would look for a grand opening sometime this summer, but a soft opening in the next month or so.

We will post details as we get closer.
