Lightning Bend City Park info?

Postby strohme2 » July 4th, 2011, 11:00 am

I was looking for trails near my in-laws cottage and Lightning Bend CIty Park in Belding is actually really close to them. The only mention of it is in the MMBA trail guide list. Any info on this trail?

I was wondering the same thing. Anyone heard of it or been there?

Sorry to say but even though its in my back yard I don't.
A friend of mine was out there last year and said it was hard to follow.
Don't think it gets much use because it is relatively unknown.
I was out there in the winter walking the dog and couldn't find the trail.
There were no maps posted at the trail head as of the beginning of summer.
I believe the guy working on it is from the Greenville area and may or may not work in the Freewheeler Bike Shop in town.
I think that shop is where my buddy got knowledge on the trail though.

I'll try to stop by the trail head again and check it out when I get the chance.

It is open and in good shape. I put some info of it on starts by the pavilion, 2 mile loop, then a 4 mile loop starts by the outhouse. Fun tight winding single track. Hope this helps out, even though I reply almost a year after thread started.
