Trail Work on the Poto

Postby jajones » November 13th, 2020, 6:26 pm

Please be aware that Spectrum Trail Designs (DTE/The Dragon/Maple Hill/Merrell/Brown County) have started some trail "rejuvenation" work at the Poto which will be going on for several weeks, as weather allows. If you see pink ribbon, "Trail Work Ahead" signs, or machines, please slow down and proceed with caution.

This is the start of a multi-year project to give the 50+ year old trail some selective facelifts to improve sustainability and enjoyability for foot and bike use.

The trail work is designed to keep the Poto a backcountry, multi-use trail, not a bike optimized flow trail. Much of the work will be to improve existing trail tread using better drainage and armoring techniques.

The current "phase" involves removing plastic geoweb sections and employing the techniques noted above.

Sounds great I dislike that plastic webbing out in the middle of otherwise natural looking woods.
