Ah! Thanks for noticing that. I really hope the replacement MMBA Forum (announced this week via Facebook) will work better.

And yes, it's happening! February 4th with a fallback date of February 18th (in case of mud/rain/whatever), from noon to 5pm.

It's on! Postponing would have complicated things overall so we were only going to delay for rain/mud. That won't be the case. It was looking like frozen dirt, but now there's snow.

not really... saw a lot of variety there. 29ers, cross bikes where in the mix as well

This was solely because of the conditions that day. Had we had another inch of snow or slightly warmer temps (making the whole thing softer) non-fatbikes wouldn't have been good.

Just happened to hit a very narrow window of good, hard-pack on the trail for the last two days. After today it won't be so nice.
