Was this email concern from the landowner forwarded to the western MMBA to address in the first place? These 2 trails (Cannonsburg Game Area and Ski Area) are very important to our chapter.

I just got word that the Cannonsburg Game Area trail coordinator is going to try and get in contact with the landowner to discuss and smooth it over.

I met with the landowner on Saturday.
Thanks for the concern, but before this spins out of control, for the time being it's being handled via private channels.

Just want to set the record straight regarding the reference to this mountain biker cutting down trees on private property. I've been hiking, biking , skiing the game area for 20 years and I know the property and boundaries well. I would never cut down trees on any private property but my own. I parked in the three mile lot at the end of the third section. cut up one dead tree across the trail about 75 yards from the lot. The other dead tree I cut up was across the trail aprrox. 150 yards in from the 3-mile lot on the game area trail. Those were the only DEAD, Downed Trees i cut up on the state land.

Where's the connector trail between SGA and the ski area?

This really isn't a connector between the two trails. It's a connector from the Game Area trail to 5 mile road. From there you can ride to Egypt Valley Rd (West) then turn North to the Ski Area Trail.

By the way- Thank you for all the concern. The land owner has been contacted and everything is fine. Ride on and ride respectfully. ( And only clear downed trees on the main loop Please.)

Yeah, it hardly rained over here at all actually and we got none of the snow from the last storm either.

Yes, it was in great shape. Bike worked well too. Now for the rider....well I made it and had fun but I'm not ready to be timed.

I don't know if the link will work or not, but if you are on the first section of trail, there is a long straight section that heads straight north. Where the trail makes a sharp right turn, if you continue straight, you will have a short jaunt to 5 mile. From there you can ride on the roads around to the Ski area.

You can easily include the beginning of the SGA, road ride up the the Ski area, ride the loop there, then return to finish the loop at the SGA.

Trail work day this weekend, Saturday April 18th, 9 AM, meet in the main parking lot. No experience necessary, just come on out and help out if you can. Bring water and work gloves, other tools will be provided. Not sure yet if lunch will be provided or not but it usually is, I'll check with the TC and update this post when I know for sure. Work to be decided based on turn out.
