There's a tree down in the first 100 yards of the trail. Im not sure of the rest of the trail because I rode the ski area due to yesterdays rain making the sga muddy.

No problem. Thanks for the heads up and EXACT location, that is very helpful. The tree is gone and I spoke with a rider in the parking lot that said that was the only one down on the trail so it should be all clear now. The trail looked a little wet and muddy though, hopefully it will dry out by tomorrow.

How much rain did you guys get up that way? Thinking about heading out here tomorrow evening, but if it is too wet will head to Yankee instead.

We got quite a bit of rain. If you're worried about hurting the trail I wouldn't worry. After two days of dry it will only be the known problem wet areas that are still real muddy and I don't think anyone should be expected to wait until those areas dry up, we would lose half our riding season! If you just don't like riding in the mud, yankee may be a better option but even there you will find a couple of mud holes I'm sure.

Why is it so important for someone to shortcut one of the small hills in the 3rd section (I think). I spent quite a lot of time laying logs and debris over that shortcut to cover it up, and it's all removed again.

It really doesn't make any sense. It's probably harder to ride straight up the fall line thatn to just ride the trail normally!

Next time add some prickers bush sticks and what not.

They would get their comeuppance and I would love to see it. Just add a video camera high up on a tree or something. But yes, it would, unfortunately, be wrong :)

We have a tree down. Last section between the first and second bridge. It's where the trees open up and it gets grassy on both sides of the trail.

Was out at SGA earlier today and there is still a tree down in the last section. Will take a chainsaw to get it out of the way. Not sure if this is the same tree mentioned in last post but a re-route is already getting worn in.

That tree in last section has been down for well over a week, but Im sure someone will remove it soon. There is only two weeks left to ride SGA.
